The Method

Three rules. Zero guessing.

This isn’t a diet book with a personality problem. It’s comfort food where somebody finally did the math — and showed their work.

Rule 01

The Portion Matrix

Every single recipe — every bowl, every pasta, every dessert — is priced out at 6, 8, 10, and 12 oz, in ounces and grams. You pick the portion that fits your day; the macros are already waiting for you.

Rule 02

The Before & After

Every recipe shows you the dish it replaces — takeout, drive-thru, or grandma’s original — side by side with the Lo-Cal Hi-Pro version. Real numbers from USDA data and manufacturer labels, not vibes. The biggest single save in the book: −1,595 calories on Peanut Butter Cheesecake Light Ice Cream.

Rule 03

Use What You’ve Got

No ingredient gatekeeping. Every recipe lists real substitutions with the exact macro cost of the swap — a few points either way, nothing to freak out about. The House Pantry stocks the workhorses, but none of them are mandatory.

One exact number per cell, for the recipe as written. Real people substitute — that’s fine, not a flaw.
