Loaded Bacon Cheeseburger Bowl
All the diner-basket flavor — bun ditched, macros fixed.

Diner-Basket Lore
A bacon cheeseburger and a side of fries in one bowl, minus the bun and the deep fryer. Roasted baby potatoes stand in for the fries, turkey bacon does the smoky work, and a two-ingredient "special sauce" of nonfat Greek yogurt and ketchup tastes like the drive-thru without the fat. (Converted from an external meal-prep card — brand names stripped, numbers re-run leaner.)

The Numbers Up Front
Total Cooked Yield: ~6 oz / 170 g cooked beef + bowl components
Default Portion: 1 bowl — 6 oz / 170 g beef on the bowl standard
✂️ Trim Trim Trim
The bun and the fryer are gone, but the real levers are quieter: turkey bacon instead of pork drops the fat without losing smoke, fat-free cheddar melts over the top for the cheeseburger pull, and the "special sauce" is nonfat Greek yogurt + ketchup + mustard instead of mayo-based burger sauce. Roast the potatoes with a spray of oil, not a pour.
Ingredients
Use-what-you’ve-got friendly.
Sorted by dish, with the spices you probably already own kept separate.
Beef + Bacon
- ◆6 oz / 170 g 93% lean ground beef
- ◆2 slices turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
The Bowl
- ◆¾ cup baby potatoes, diced
- ◆½ tsp each garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika • salt & pepper
- ◆0-cal olive oil spray
- ◆¼ cup fat-free cheddar, shredded
- ◆½ cup shredded lettuce • ¼ cup diced tomato • 2 tbsp chopped pickles
Special Sauce
- ◆2 tbsp nonfat Greek yogurt
- ◆1 tbsp ketchup • 1 tsp yellow mustard • 1 tsp pickle juice • salt & pepper
Instructions
- 1
Heat oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss diced potatoes with the seasonings and a spray of oil. Roast 25–30 min, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
- 2
Cook turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove, chop, set aside.
- 3
In the same skillet, cook the ground beef, seasoned with salt and pepper, over medium-high until browned. Drain any fat.
- 4
Mix the sauce: Greek yogurt, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- 5
Build: potatoes → beef → fat-free cheddar (let it melt on the hot beef) → bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles → drizzle the sauce.
🧠 Why This Works
A bacon cheeseburger's calories live in the bun, the mayo sauce, and the fried potato. Swap the bun for roasted potato, the pork bacon for turkey, the fatty cheese for fat-free, and the burger sauce for Greek-yogurt special sauce, and you keep every flavor cue — smoke, tang, melty cheese, crispy potato — while the numbers drop by a full diner-basket's worth. The beef still brings the protein a growing person actually needs.
🌶️ Flavor Boosters
Diced onion • a shake of hot sauce in the special sauce • extra pickle • a pinch of smoked paprika on the potatoes • jalapeño
🔄 Use What You’ve Got
- —No turkey bacon? Center-cut pork bacon, or skip and lean on smoked paprika
- —Fat-free cheddar not around? Any reduced-fat shred, just a touch more fat
- —Baby potatoes → any potato, diced; or sweet potato for a change
- —93% beef → 96% for even less fat, or ground turkey/bison
📦 Meal Prep Notes
Store beef, bacon, and potatoes together up to 4 days • Keep lettuce, tomato, and sauce separate and add fresh • Reheat the beef-and-potato base, then top
